"MLM Training Forum" - The Real Reason Selling Is Superior To Recruiting
One of the hottest subjects debated is whether you should focus heavily
on recruiting new distributors, or retailing the product being offered.
In other words, should one spend the majority of their time on
sponsoring more reps, or should they develop skills good enough to move
massive quantities of goods?
The
real question should be, are you trying to acquire time and financial
freedom, or just make some extra money? The answer to this question
will settle exactly what behavior should be the focus. However, we have
to make a detour before when head to this conclusion.
The first
thing needed along the lines of network marketing fundamentals is an

I
would probably speculate that nearly all MLM professionals would be
caught off guard to know that there was such a distinction, so for the

Wholesale Focused Group = purchasing goods at wholesale cost for yourself and finding others to do the same.

accomplished in a retail focused group, NOT a wholesale focused
organization.
The challenge that most of us network marketers
have to deal with is that we are promoting "time and financial
freedom," which is the function of a RETAIL FOCUSED group, but we do
business as a WHOLESALE FOCUSED organization by being too preoccupied

Did
you know that most MLM pay plans have guidelines that you must have a
minimum amount of personal volume in order to benefit from the
commissions? This minimum order is usually in the area of $200-$300 and
the average MLM professional tries to consume all of this themselves

The next thing you know, you have a garage full of the merchandise!
The basic skills that you need to achieve time and financial freedom are:
1. Buy the merchandise (if nothing else so that you know your product line).
2. Find new retail product buyers (non-distributors).

Think
for one moment that you purchased a McDonald's franchise with the
rights to sell franchises to others. Would you only sell the franchise
opportunity and never open your business to sell the items on the menu?
OF COURSE NOT! However, the average network marketer will primarily
"sell the franchise opportunity" and never try to master the marketing
and sales skills necessary to sell the "product line."
The
stable money is in the movement of the retail product, not the
opportunity itself. Of all the so called "network marketing
fundamentals," this is the one with the greatest significance.
